The Thank God movie by T-series is set to release tomorrow, that is, Tuesday, October 25, 2022. It is an important Bollywood release that should be noted as it was earlier thought to be ‘mocking Hindu deities’. The film got a lot of backlashes from the public and was also a target of the Boycott Bollywood Trend! But before mentioning further details on the negative aspects, let’s see what the film is all about.
Thank God Movie Plot
Not much is known about the Thank God movie plot as the makers did not want to reveal a lot about it. However, the small snippet that the Thank God IMDb page has provided states that it is a story revolving around:
“A couple of goofy, kind-hearted men as they try to reform society.”
The most eccentric part of the film has to be the inclusion of the character of Chitragupta, who is a Hindu deity. This was one of the main reasons for the hatred that this release garnered from the audience when its trailer was out first.

Boycott Bollywood Trend
As earlier reported by News Magnify, the Boycott Bollywood Movies 2022 trend had been targeting the Thank God film that is thought to be mocking the “Hindu Dharm” and history of the country. People mentioned that the Thank God movie trailer is an insult to Chitragupta, the lord of Karma, who was known to keep a record of people’s deeds according to which their fate was decided by the God of Death, Yama.
#Boycott_ThankGodMovie @ajaydevgn do u dare to do such mocks with Islam and Christianity #BoycottBollywood and teach them a lesson he has done same thing in Singham returns movie. Central censor board is under BJP. What they r doing pic.twitter.com/jVfk42H3lG

The movie stars Siddharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles along with Ajay Devgan. Now the situation stands that there have been more than 700 tweets in an hour that contains #BoycottBollywood. In addition, another hashtag that is trending is #Boycott_ThankGodMovie. The information we have referred to is from the below-mentioned Twitter statement:
“It's evident from the trailer itself that #ThankGod is once again about the mockery of #HinduDharm. This time #Bollywood has chosen Chitragupta. As per Hindu scriptures, he is the Lord of Karma who keeps a record of a man’s good and bad deeds. #Boycott_ThankGodMovie #BoycottBollywood”
Another Twitter user noted that Bollywood doesn’t dare to mock Islam or Christianity but easily does that to Hinduism and wants the government to take an action on it. They tweeted saying:
“#Boycott_ThankGodMovie @ajaydevgn do u dare to do such mocks with Islam and Christianity #BoycottBollywood and teach them a lesson he has done the same thing in Singham Returns movie. The central censor board is under BJP. What they r doing”.
These things might affect the Thank God box office collection. However, we still hope that everything is in control and that the movie manages to do well. This is because the film might have a completely different concept than what we have been thinking. Moreover, the actors have put in a lot of effort. In addition, it might be possible that the production house did not intentionally want to hurt people’s sentiments.
