Facebook Smartwatch May Be A Big Competition In The Market

According to the latest patent, the Facebook smartwatch might arrive with a detachable display. Back in 2021, the company was reported to be functioning on a smartwatch that will have rounded corners along with a front facing camera. Along with that, there were also rumors of Meta working on a smartwatch that is going to offer a detachable screen. Now, it is the smartwatch’s patent that has been launched recently.
Facebook Smartwatch: What All We Know Till Now?
Facebook, which has now changed its name to Meta, maybe add a new product to their product list, and this time, it is going to be a wearable. The latest report shows that two patents were released that offer hints as to what the user’s cloud expects from a Facebook smartwatch.
One of the designs looks like the normal rectangular-dial smartwatch, but arrives with detachable displays, while another shows a round dial with three in-built cameras.
The patents that have been stated above were released by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation). The first watch among them portrays a rectangular dial that looks similar to that of the Apple’s Watch along with a display that is fully detachable. There seem to be no crowns or buttons on the side, so this version can be fully touch controlled.
The second Meta smartwatch is predicted to showcase three cameras, while the bezel will rotate apparently to enable a single camera sensor to utilize varied lenses. The three cameras in this setup are anticipated to be the same as a typical triple camera phone that includes an ultrawide lens, a primary telephoto, and a third fisheye or zoom lens.
As per reports, the watches will be compatible with AR and VR systems and can perhaps be utilized as an input device, for a future AR headset. Apart from this, the watches are anticipated to offer standard fitness inclined characteristics like step counting, heart rate tracking, and sleep monitoring. Other than that, the users can also expect a temperature monitoring sensor as well in the watch. The Facebook smartwatch price in India or in any other part of the world has been disclosed yet.
The Bottom Line
A rumored date of release of the Facebook smartwatch for at least one or two wearables has been scheduled for the summer of 2022, but whether Meta will actually proceed with this product is still not known. There is one thing that should be noted, not all the patents make it to the ultimate products. However, if this Facebook wrist watch does make it to the market, it is going to be a good addition to the Fossil smartwatch, Samsung smartwatch, Mi smartwatch, and all other competitors.
