With the prevailing pandemic and after the medical setback of 2020, we all have started to take health seriously. So the OnePlus fitness band was launched at the ideal time. After 11 months of its launch, this is the best time to write a review on this. So here is a OnePlus Smart Band review.
OnePlus Smart Band Review: Design
This is the OnePlus’s first fitness band that was launched in January 2021, and it seems like that company has taken some suggestions from its sister brand Oppo. The OnePlus Fitness Band looks similar to the Oppo Band which was released in China back in 2020.
This OnePlus Band like many other fitness bands has two elements: a capsule and a strap. The capsule has no button on it and is completely touchscreen just like the Mi Smart band 5, along with a OnePlus logo below. So there can be a good comparison on the OnePlus Smart Band vs Mi Band 5 The capsule can be easily popped up from the band for charging purposes.
OnePlus Smart Band Review: Software And Features
The OnePlus Band comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED display along with a resolution of 126 x 294 pixels. The customer has the option to set the brightness of the screen at five varied levels. There is a toggle in the application to lower the brightness of the screen at night. There is a support for Bluetooth 5, and this model operates on a 100mAh battery, which OnePlus asserts is enough for 14 days of battery life. This fitness band from OnePlus is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance and can handle up to 5 ATM of pressure so that the user can wear it while swimming. The OnePlus Smart Band price is Rs 2799.
The customer can pair this band with Android devices operating Android 6 and above. OnePlus did not have an application for iOS when the band was started for testing, the company has started launching one in the future. The OnePlus Health App is the same as Oppo’s HeyTap Health app, which was used by the customers when they reviewed the Oppo Watch.
In this OnePlus Smart Band review, let us have a look at the OnePlus Band features. On the smart band itself, the user will be able to check their SpO2 level, daily activity, sleep duration, heart rate, and the weather. It also comes with a Breathe app to guide breathing exercises. Swiping left or right from the main screen alters the watch face while swiping from bottom to top brings the user to the menu. The customer can also swipe from top to bottom, just how they would do on a smartphone, to quickly avail the notifications. The OnePlus Band operates as a notifier to provide notifications from the user’s smartphone. They can read incoming texts, but it isn’t suitable to read on the small display. It also vibrates to notify the user of incoming calls, but they could only silence the band or reject incoming calls from the band.
Verdict
From this OnePlus Smart Band review, it can be concluded that it is among the very few fitness bands in the market that provides SpO2. The OnePlus Band SpO2 accuracy is fair enough. If you are searching for a wearable to specifically track this, this is an ideal option for you. It is also a good heart rate and sleep tracker, but not a good option when it comes to step and distance tracking. The OnePlus Band price in India is 2799 INR. Overall, it is a good fitness band for your regular use.
