Both the automobiles of Tata, the Altroz and Punch are quite famous. Both of them are designed on the same ALFA architecture. So let us have a look at which among the two is a better off for the 2021 market. 

Design

In the Tata Altroz vs Tata Punch comparison it is crucial to mention, design wise, both these cars look almost similar. While the first one is a premium hatchback, the latter one is a micro SUV.  

Initiating with the latest car here, the Tata Punch looks fresher compared to Altroz. This design looks more sturdy. This is because of its SUV silhouette and all around back cladding. Space

This engine is either paired to a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Tata Altroz on the contrary arrives with 3 varied engine types. These engine types comprise of two petrol and one diesel engine.

Beginning with the petrol powered engines, the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated Revotron petrol engine is equivalent to the one that is present in the Tata Punch, while the more powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged version generates 108.48 bhp and 140 Nm of torque.

While the diesel unit is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder unit with 200 Nm of torque and 88.78 bhp. However, the Tata Altroz is provided only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Price

Prices for the Tata Altroz begin from Rs 5.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base model of 1.2-litre Revotron, while the top-of-the-line model that is fitted with the same engine is veiled at Rs 8.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Even though Tata Motors is yet to announce the Tata Punch price, we can expect it to be valued at Rs 20,000 to Rs 35,000 cheaper compared to the Tata Altroz.

On paper, it is a close comparison between the two car offerings from Tata Motors. Since both the automobiles use the same ALFA platform, we predict the forthcoming Tata Punch to also receive a 5-star crash rating as the Tata Altroz received.
